this is why i either listen to music or youtube while playing singleplayer

this is the exact reason I don’t play mincecraft survival by myself, I only play creative by myself

The sad thing for me is that i don't have access to multiplayer so when i play mincraft im always lonely and stuck in silence.

I am pretty sure Minecraft was supposed to be a horror game i might be wrong but it would be fun if it was a little bit creepy than it is now but thats my opinion

As a kid who was very sensitive to horror and silence, Minecraft never really scared me for some reason. To me, a horror setting is created by the implication of something being horribly wrong, but never explicitly states what it is. Minecraft always had these unexplained mysteries however the presence of villagers gives them a reason. All the abandoned structures make sense in the context of structures created by villagers but where abandoned as their civilization changed into a town basis, therefore they don't implicate something being off. The silence makes Minecraft different from most games always being packed full of sound, and the lack of evidence for a greater threat I didn't already know of enforces this peace of mind the silence gives me.

When I was younger, I played minecraft with my brother a lot. I built a city ij creative on a superflat world (I will mention it wasn’t very good, I was like 8) and I had made little apartments to what I imagined they would be like, eventually started making a neighborhood I never finished out of boredom. There was a pool, a bad replica of the CN tower, an amusement park. There were sidewalks, even a stage and everything I wanted in my little city. At one point I felt something was off... there were no people. Nobody to live in the apartments, house, enjoy my amusement park, walk the sidewalks, no one to perform on the stage except me. I tried using armor stands to replicate people, but you could only use so many before I reached the limit. Plus, they didn't move. It was weird having that realization.

Secretly a horror game for schizophrenics

For me, whenever i go into a cave and hear those sounds i just feel like i can't play. I always go sit next to my cousin or my brother. It just feels..off. I start getting nauseous, paranoid and i just start to tremble. I don't know why. I can't play minecraft alone.

For me, 3 things scare me the most: I try to do ANYTHING to not go in a cave. But When I do, I usually do it to go mining. I make it as quick and swift as possible (or go deep as possible for some actual mobs. It has gone to the point where seeing a creeper comforts me). Due to paranoia, The cave sounds will take a different toll. Like Cave12.ogg. It feels like something awoke from it's deep slumber once you stood in, And it's Looking for you. Cave5.ogg is a perfect representation of what the sound of "The deafening Silence" is. Cave15.ogg sounds like something is... nearby. Cave15 makes it sound like it's gone... but the feeling that it exists is scary. Cave19.ogg has the most frightening sounds in it (For me). These sounds can make me perfectly get a image of somethin.. Watching me while I mine ores. I never play minecraft alone. Mining is the sole reason. Another thing that scares me is the ending. I'd always try to do anything to keep me invested. But once I'd complete everything? What now?... I dunno... The last thing that scares e is loneliness. You'd complete things to impress yourself.. And others!. But it's just you... You'd realise this and start feeling paranoid again.

Minecraft is supposed to be uneasy and creepy, its a dying/dead world based off everything in the game from the jungle temple to the ancient cities.

I think the thing about Minecraft that’s scaring everyone is that it’s similar to real life, except there’s no one else, like imagine real life with no one else in it but you, it kinda gives you the same feeling as Minecraft

the part that always scares me is when I'm in a single player world alone and I keep hearing things and seeing things that seem like another player when that shouldn't be possible in single player

Honestly, i like the feeling of isolation in minecraft. Which sounds weird, but it's true.

I would say the scariest stage of the game is part the first night, in an interesting window of time in the player's progression in Singleplayer where you are vulnerable, have very simple purposes (survive) and everything around you is kind of new, untouched. I also very interestingly find forest biomes (the simple forest one) being the most chilling in this regard, as every single time I find myself spawning in one I find the urge to get out and set base somewhere else, less enclosed between the trees and the dead silence

Fun fact: if you have more than 5 players on the server than you will no longer feel the fear

i don’t really want any ambience sound. i think that the uncanny feeling that minecraft gives makes minecraft minecraft

Game can be profitable and passion projects, look at Terraria, it's literally better than Minecraft in every way in vanilla

All they have to do is give villagers personality. Leave the other areas creepy, but quest type things could happen to improve/build a village. Idk I think villagers could add a lot, and aren’t utilized enough

Scariest aspect is my building

I personally don't see why this aspect of the game has to be "fixed". Yes, it is unnerving for a game that is otherwise about being in nature, but I see that dimension as part of its appeal. I always liked how in Minecraft it didn't shy away from the fact that nature is isolating and scary. Comfort comes from human necessities like light and infrastructure, but otherwise you have no clue what is lurking out there. It is this tension that is the backbone of the survival mode formula for me.

The loneliness is not scary its just sad but that can be fixed if mojang improves villager ai for me at least

I was always terrified when that moment of realization hit, when i realized i was completely alone, not even knowing if there was something out there despite knowing full well nothing was there, the feeling was so unnerving and uncomfortable that i literally had nightmares 😭😭

Herobrian is real? When I was about seven, my mom got me a game called Minecraft. I always love the UA-camr SB 737 and his series of his Minecraft world. I try to re-create it in my own world but something happened. This happened about 2017-2016 and I got a message that Herobrine join my world. Me and my sister always played Minecraft so I thought it was her at first until this figure was throwing fire charges. The issue was that if you join my server you would be on visitor, but that wasn’t the case. This figure was throwing fire balls at me which couldn’t be anyone else due to the fact that you can’t throw fireballs without a dispenser. Also I was thousands of blocks away from the world spawn but when the figure joined, it was a right next to me immediately. This led me to believe it wasn’t my sister, but someone else? I had no other siblings so it had to be him.

I heard blocks breaking behind me my render distance was stuck on 5 and I closed a door and then…creepy noises started playing and it was so dark, it was snowing…I saw an abandoned pillager outpost…and saw different things that does not exist in Minecraft. I had a home but it’s gone I’m trying to keep up…
